By hanging the plant upside down, watering is a cinch (just pour it in the funnel on top), weeding is not an issue, staking and tying aren’t necessary, and you can do all the work at eye level! The plants grow up, towards the sun, adjusting to the weight of their fruit.
English gardeners have grown tomatoes in plastic bags for years, but this is finally a better mouse trap that's great for the beginner. Also, strongly recommended for Senior Gardeners who want to raise significant plants without lots of bending or hard work. Can be used for flowers or other vegetables. Simply insert up to two plants in the bottom, fill with soil, then water and fertilize through the top funnel. Plants are held up by the special collar on the bottom. This vertical planter is ideal for all varieties of tomato (both determinate tomato vines and indeterminate vines), plus Parsley, Oregano, Sage, Basil, Rosemary, Mint, and other herbs. If tomatoes aren't your thing, the Topsy Turvy also turns out amazing Green Peppers, Zucchini, Cucumbers, Jalapenos, Eggplant, Cucumbers, Squash, and other vine based vegetables.
Please Note that the unit does drip, so you’ll need to have a jar, or better yet a flower, sitting underneath it. Also, a good place to tie it to is required, or else a mounting hook (provided) must be installed.
